Oh wow

I thought I was mistaken, but that really IS the wind - what's that about?

Yeah, the wind is LOUD tonight. It's keeping me awake.

I'll finally doze off just to be awakened five or ten minutes later when a particularly vicious gust hits. Then it's back to Wakeville, with the big dark circles under my eyes. Nothing better than that!Is anyone else being kept up by this? The news last night said it would be worst from sunset to news, but I don't like thinking about what THAT would mean.

I went to bed a about 12:30 and it was blowing pretty hard - but to my amazement - it just kept getting harder! By 2 or 3 it was ferocious! It was making its way through the gaps in the bedroom window and blowing the curtain out. At certain points, gusts shook the window so hard I was sure it was going to shatter. Then I saw a great flash of light which I took to mean a transformer had blown somewhere near - but when I rushed to the window I didn't see any dark areas of the city. (I'm about 33 stories up and get a pretty good overhead view of the surrounding area)No sleep here. I needed it too - wasn't feeling well this weekend.

We lost power a few times last night too -- and Traci's computer was on, w/the sound up, so that kept waking me up too, since it made loud noises when it rebooted. Argh. But yeah, very, very windy. And talk about window-shaking -- you've seen our windows. Yikes!

Not in the sense I doubted it, but because I was trying to imagine where there were 33-floor apartment buildings here! ARE there such buildings? It seems some of the ones downtown might be, but I'm not absolutely sure. I, too, was worried the windows were going to shatter. Since I sleep right under the windows, I imagined awakening to shards of glass planted places they shouldn't be. I really dislike sleepless insomniac mental wanderings... I couldn't persuade myself otherwise as I wasn't awake enough to believe it! Delirium is a little better now after my short nap, but I need more sleep or my first day back tomorrow will be painful.

My eyes are a little more than heavy. Can't wait to go home and flop on the couch.Though I've promised myself that every night - I will do something constructive, such as clean up the kitchen, before I flop. It's the only way the apartment stays tidy while Jen is gone.33 stories . . pfft! What a goob I am!I actually thought the same thing. "Are there any 33 story apartment buildings in LA?"Maybe in downtown. In any case - The corner of Plummer and Nordhoff was without power this morning on my way to work. That was probably the transformer. At first I thought it may be lightning - but upon close inspection of the sky I found no clouds. :P
